On Tour: 10th Anniversary Tour

Touring in support of the "Creatures of the Night" album was always going to cause KISS no small amount of trepidation. They had essentially been off the road in the U.S. for three years, their popularity had sunk to a level which wasn't clear if it was the nadir, and they'd lost their relationship with their lead guitarist and record label. And the economy was less than stellar. The ramifications of years of poor choices magnified the effects of natural changing musical tastes. KISS had climbed the mountain and reached the top, and were being rolled down the other side by a constant line of emerging acts ready to take their crown in a multitude of ways. Paul had commented that he felt that many acts were borrowing heavily from the show KISS had put on, so it was time to take the real deal out on the road. It was time to stop the rot, and, as needs must, so too did the band need to hit the road and prove to the masses that they were still alive, still relevant, and more importantly had gotten over their artistic dalliances of the previous three albums.
