Notes:
- KISS was the first musical act to ever perform at this taxpayer funded venue, an alternative location to the nearby Municipal Auditorium in Mobile, AL. The early history of the venue was that it faced notable sound problems, "perhaps caused by backward installation of acoustic insulation" (Ocala Star-Banner, 11/5/85). Ticketing challenges also affected the venue with no outlets east of the city offering tickets for the venue, nor did the venue initially offer mail-order.
- From a local review: "The doctor says that with a lot of rest and peace and quiet, I ought to be able to hear again about June. That should also coincide with my frozen body thawing out after last Monday's trip to the KISS concert at the new Pensacola Civic Center. I noted that as I sat in the arena, where it was cold enough to hang meat, that many teenagers wore T-shirts that said, 'If ifs too loud, you're too old.' They were right... Both groups provided great rock and roll, but the truth of the matter is, groups sound better on record than live. And when you listen to an album, there is no danger of being bombed by a cannon, burned by a fire flash or crushed by a flying saucer -- all features of the KISS show. But then there is nothing like being there...
KISS came on so late that some in the crowd had gotten angry. Mixed among the cheers were well-aimed rolls of toilet tissue that found their marks on the countenance of each member of the group. Simmons spent more time kicking tissue off the stage than banging his bass. Reduced to the actual show, concerts are entertaining as hell. KISS thrilled the assemblage, but the waiting, the getting in and the getting out were pure agony -- an unnecessary agony" (Fort Walton Playground Daily News, 1/27/85).
