Notes:
- From a local review: "The makeup may be gone, but the legend lives on. KISS rocked the Sportsplex Saturday night. The internationally successful band kept the 5,500 fans clapping their hands and stomping their feet as they presented likely the most electrifying stage performance ever to hit Lethbridge. The stage show with brilliant lights, power flares and smoke was a spectacular demonstration of what stage performing is all about. Unlike other rock bands, KISS centers their concert around their stage show actually making the audience a part of the show. From their opening hit 'Detroit Rock City' until the end of the show, KISS was in full command. Stopping occasionally to give the band a short rest, lead guitarist Paul Stanley would talk to the crowd. OP one occasion, Stanley appeared on stage with a Michael Jackson doll and compared the pop music sang by Jackson with the heavy rock music of KISS, later telling the doll and Jackson to 'beat it.' Drummer Eric Carr showed his talents with a drum solo. As the drums moved to the front of the stage, Carr built up a feeling of suspense that something was about to happen. Suddenly, bright flares shot upward, and a loud bang was heard as the drums surrounded by smoke moved to the back of the stage.
The man with the long tongue, Gene Simmons also appeared solo. With the stage flooded red the mood was fear, as the crowd-favorite basked in the eerie setting. Although the concert was to promote sales of their latest album Animalize, many of the songs performed were from past albums. As the band does so well, they saved the best until last. During the last song a part of the lighting supports came down to the stage allowing the band to walk above the stage among the lights, returning to the stage on a descending disk resembling a space ship. Opening act Queensr˙che, whose music is compared to that of Motley Crew and Judas Priest was accepted by the crowd but was no comparison to the fabulous performance of the legendary KISS" (Lethbridge Herald, 3/4/85).
