On Tour: Revenge

Following the conclusion of the "Hot in the Shade" tour the band knew they were on the right track, partially at least. That album, even including only the band's second major U.S. hit single -- in the form of "Forever" -- had not resulted in increased sales, even if the tour was the band's most successful of the 1980s. In terms of the music, the album of glorified demos, stiffed at around 650,000 copies, a step down from the platinum certified "Crazy Nights" or even "Asylum." That the greatest hit's compilation "Smashes, Thrashes & Hits" had done so well was telling once the band embraced their back catalog for the accompanying tour. That would be a central theme for the successive tours, but it was more important for the band to figure out what had gone wrong. The Lost "Revenge" Tour

On May 21, 1992, KISS' publicists announced the first leg of "Revenge" arena tour (PR, "KISS Ready Themselves for a Major Arena Tour After A 'Revengful' successful Club Tour"). It was announced that the tour would commence in Tulsa, OK, on July 31. Later, due to events which over-took the band in the early summer, the tour was postponed and was later rescheduled and kicked off in Allentown, PA, on October 1, 1992. What follows is the planned initial itinery for that tour.
